will no longer work if you upgrade to myspace 2.0, but I am in the process of converting older layouts to the new 2.0 style. The extended networks will not be visible in the newer layouts.
step one
From your myspace home page, hover over "profile" and then choose "customize profile" from the drop down menu:
Or you can click on "edit profile" and then "customize profile".

On the next page myspace will explain to you that they'll save a copy of your old profile for 90 days if you choose to switch back to 1.0. You're going to click "upgrade to profile 2.0" on this page, as shown below:

Next you're going to select "no theme".
